Nimbo Meadows Parish Council

Minutes of the Meeting of the Council held on Tuesday, 15 September 2026 at 7.30pm at Meadows Village Hall, Church Lane

Present: Cllr Jane Price (Chair), Cllr Kim Byrne, Cllr Sam Dunn, Cllr Lee Marsh, Cllr Ade Okafor.
In attendance: Rosa Hale (Clerk); 4 members of the public.

Apologies for absence

Apologies were received from Cllr Tom Whitlow, and the reasons given were approved.

Declarations of interest and dispensations

Cllr Ade Okafor declared a disclosable pecuniary interest in item 26/008 (Footpath 7: overgrown hedges): owns land along Footpath 7. They left the room for that item and took no part.

Public participation

A resident asked for the swings to include a seat suitable for disabled children. Another asked when the hedges on Footpath 7 would be cut.

Finance: payments and receipts

RESOLVED that the payments listed in the schedule, totalling £1,284.60, be approved. (Proposed Cllr Lee Marsh, seconded Cllr Kim Byrne; agreed with no votes against.)

Play area: replacement swings

The Clerk presented three quotes. Members agreed the Playco quote offered the best value and included an inclusive seat.

RESOLVED that the quote from Playco Ltd of £4,200 for two swings and an inclusive seat be accepted. (Proposed Cllr Jane Price, seconded Cllr Sam Dunn; 4 for, 1 against.)

Footpath 7: overgrown hedges

Members noted the hedges are the landowners’ responsibility but that the county council can require them to be cut.

RESOLVED that the Clerk asks the county council’s rights of way team to require the hedges along Footpath 7 to be cut back. (Proposed Cllr Sam Dunn, seconded Cllr Lee Marsh; 4 for, 0 against.)
